2009 Vermont Wood Design Student Competition

Saturday & Sunday, September 26-27, 2009
Union Arena Community Center, Woodstock, VT

Congratulations to Will Barstow of U-32 High School for winning 1st place for the Walnut Boston Queen Anne Side Chair in the Student Woodworking Competition!

Second Place: Tony Petri of Middlebury High School for the Shaker Style End Table with Shaped Pedestal Base (on left)  Third Place: Elmer Deforge of U-32 High School for the Coffee Table with Walnut Top and walnut end spindles (on right).

Eligibility requirements:
* Student must be enrolled in a Vermont High School or
Technical Center (grades 9-12).
Note-Students that graduate in 2009 are eligible to enter

* Piece must be designed and made in Vermont
*Piece must be available for judging at
Sept. 26-27 Woodworking Festival event

Special Thanks to Spooner Specialties and Fine Woodworking Magazine for their generous donations to the competition.
The first place winner will receive $500 towards anything at Spooner Specialties of Montpelier, VT.
Spooner Specialties has been working with Vermont schools for 28 years taking care of their needs with woodworking machinery and supplies.
